The Iranian Cultural Continent

The Iranian Cultural Continent refers to the collective regions of the world that have significant Iranian cultural influence. According to Richard Nelson Frye, Iran means all lands and peoples among whom Iranian languages were and are spoken and where, in the past, multi-faceted Iranian cultures existed.
COUNTRIES: Iran, Armenia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China (western), Georgia, Ghirghizstan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Pakistan (western), Kurdish regions, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
Despite the many different races, languages, dialects, religions and physical boundaries between these countries, an historical, cultural bond has remained among the estimated population of half a billion living there, surviving throughout the course of history and weathering all the mighty colonial, ideological and occupying powers that have assailed them.
